I think this is considered cheating?

Postby meatwad10 » Sun Nov 21, 2004 12:03 pm

Someone in my league set their timezone to like +12 hours. By doing this they can watch the games, and then set their roster, which to me is way unfair. I was thinking of locking his roster before the games, but im unsure as to whether this is allowed.

Shouldn't it set the lineups five minutes before the start of the games no matter what time his computer says?

i dont know? he has been seting his lineup after games start though, so i assumed thats what happened since yahoo leagues have the timezone option in user details

It would be funny if despite the cheating he still had a crappy record.

Yeah but once the games start it locks the lineups.

Interesting, I didn't think that this was possible to do. If he really is cheating the system, that just makes him lame. I would lock his team.

Sounds like he out-smarted the league.
I'd pat him on the back.

I don't think this really works... But I'd like to know. It could be kinda like the FA/WW pickup at midnight that is messed up with Yahoo.

And wouldn't you have to set it to -12 not +12?

How bizarre. I've played leagues with folks on several continents before, and while time zones affect other aspects of the game (who's awake to make a key waiver pickup being a favorite), I've never heard of this...

Very strange.
