I stand by first comment.

Only an idiot would say that Portis is a failure when he has played in the conditions that Gibbs has allowed and fostered.
Is it Portis's fault that he runs against 8 man fronts?
Is it Portis's fault that that the playcalls look like they came from my 8 year old brother playing Madden football on his playstation.
Gibbs is not bright, I can't beleive he is doing what he is. Gibbs IS THE BUST!

I agree, there is more to a running game than just the RB. That's why all pre-season I argued that Portis would do worse this year, because of the many other factors that contributed to his high stats at Denver.

My point was he hasn't lived up to expectations. When you're RB is averaging less than 2.5 ypc, as a coach, you're not making a mistake by letting another guy try to get the job done. Gibbs entire system may be the flaw, but my original point is that Gibbs's decision to bench Portis and run with Betts was perfectly logical

To this day, that halfback pass was the best (longest too)Washington pass this year.
