The only thing that's clear to me about this game is that if Joe Gibbs hadn't had so much success in the past, and this were his first coaching job, he'd probably be regarded as a worse coach then Dave Wannstedt or Jim Haslett.
I mean seriously, some of these decisions just boggle my mind. Going up against a team with two 1st year starters at CB and they take literally ZERO shots downfield the entire game. I mean, Ramsey is 20 of 32 for
154 yards. 154 yards on 20-32 passing is ridiculous.
Then, he runs Portis right up the guy everytime, then spells him with Betts and has Betts run two straight toss plays. Is it just me, or is it not common sense to run the toss plays with the quicker RB and the up the middle stuff with the bigger more powerful Betts?
And of course, we heard last year how so much of Spurrier's bad coaching was lack of discipline leading to outrageous amounts of penalties. Well, as usually, Washington has about 800 penalties, mostly false starts and delay of games and things of that nature.
