Chances of Bettis starting long term

What does everyone think of his chances of starting long term? Especially with Duce getting that dreaded second opinion.

Starting long term if Staley comes back? NO Duce was playing very very well while he was in plus he has more future in Pittsburg were as Bettis is coming to his end. When Staley comes back he will take the starting job back.

If your asking if he will start with Staley out then yes i see that happening

He did it weeks 3,4,5.

When Duce comes back it's his job.Bus will rest a bit for the playoff run.

seems possible to be next week... lucky you :-?

not sure how good this source is, since nothing official has appeared out of Fanball or anything else, but John Clayton on ESPN.com says "Next week, Duce Staley, who averaged 100 rushing yards a game before pulling a hamstring, is expected to return and take back the starting job from Bettis."

Bettis is still going to get all the short rushing yeards and plenty of tds even if/when staley comes back..
the problem with Staley is that in his NFL career, he's stayed healthy for only one full season..
this guy sneezes and his blows his knee out..
remember, he was already nicked up before he tweaked his hammy..
If a player misses multiple games during the season with hammy problems, it will bother him the rest of the season..remeber guys like Isaac Bruce a few years back, he couldn't stay on the field with hammy problems, same with Santana Moss, Donte Stallworth, Terry Glenn ( multiple seasons)and now, Duce Staley..
despite reports that he'll start and so forth, I'm not dumping Bettis at all..I'm betting he regains the starting role very soon, given Staley's inability thruout his career to stay healthy for a full season. hamstrings take weeks/months to recover from..Randy Moss ist STILL out...and i doubt he will be anywhere nearly as effective when he comes back , as he was early in the season...
takes a while to recover from hammy strains..
