Rookie Mock

Postby Arlo » Mon Nov 22, 2004 8:50 am

Inspired by CC's Early Draft Rankings (a superb read, by the way), a number of folks have expressed interest in holding a very early rookie mock. We obviously don't know next year's draft order yet, but it's never too early to look for emerging trends. Plus, mocks like this are always a whole lot of fun.

This mock will, if enough people show interest, be held in a slow format with each drafter representing one or more NFL teams. There will be two rounds, with a brief trading period before the beginning of the draft.

So far, the following folks are on board:

footballfreak449 (Jacksonville)
MeShawn (Dallas)
ljthockey (Kansas City)
kevinoc81 (Chicago)
warrick95 (Cincinnati)
PackerAttack84 (Green Bay)
Free Bagel (Washington)
SwiperNoSwiping (Indianapolis)
joshyboy72 (New Orleans)

If you're interested, please sign up in this thread. Ideally, the draft would kick off later this week with the order based on this week's standings, but if Thanksgiving would prove to be a stumbling block for too many people, we can easily push it back by a week.

Should be interesting! ;-D

(Note that there will definitely be another draft of this nature in the offseason.)

Sounds great. I would love to participate. Guess I go with the Colts since I stick up for Manning day in and day out.

Since KG threatened to kill me in my sleep, I'll take Carolina and let him have the skins...

That's right. Cross me and I'll kill you in your sleep.

As first act of the Redskins GM I'd like to let it known that the following players are being shopped.

LT: Chris Samuels
C: Cory Raymer
RG: Randy Thomas
WLB: LaVar Arrington
RB/FB: Ladell Betts
QB: Mark Brunell (he's not a bad guy once you get to know him) :-/

All you teams out there like Carolina, Miami, Houston and San Francisco looking to bolster your o-line with probowlers like Chris Samuels and an experienced center like Raymer, you know where to reach me.

And for the record, these players are not available for trade.
