Ty Law is a cover 2 corner, not a man corner.

Are you serious dude? Just keep that bag on your head buddy!

Funny how all these homers come in and say their CBs are the best. Considering Law is hurt, he's not up there...genius.

Ok, I missed the fact that the list was for him to base his choice on picking WR's to start, I thought it was just a general question. But the "homer" part is kind of a dumb thing to say! Are you saying Ty Law is not a top corner....."genius" If so, you don't know much about the pigskin....."genius"

The others are in no particular order.
Patrick Surtain
Ty Law
Chris McAlister
Antoine Winfield (good tackler in particular)
Charles Woodson
Fred Smoot
Samari Rolle
Lito Sheppard and Sheldon Brown have been solid for Philly
Ronde Barber (terrific Cover 2 cornerback)
Marcus Trufant

And then some other underrated guys:
Dre' Bly
Charles Tillman
Ahmed Plummer
Quentin Jammer
Will Allen
Aaron Glenn
Rashean Mathis
Gary Baxter
Tory James

There are many more that I can't think of right now.

If there are "many more," then every team has a sick corner and we'd be advised to not play any WR in any matchup! 8-o
Respect Stevie McNair. Bow down to the pouch.

I wouldn't sit elite WR's versus anybody. They know the play...the corners covering them don't. The new rules this year with the 5 yard rule being strictly enforced further helps the WRs, especially vs. more physical CBs. The only corner I'd remotely even think about is Champ. And Chad burned Champ on MNF. McAlister, Woodson, and Law, I'd be a bit worried about, too. I edited the list to show the upper echelon. I meant that there are many more underrated players (the third list) in the edited part.

I'd only look towards the list above if I had a mediocre WR, or two similiarily ranked WRs that I'm torn between starting.

And Chad burned Champ on MNF.

Chad didn't really burn him. Champ fell down on one play, which gave Chad the TD. A couple plays later, Champ intercepted a potential TD pass to Chad in the endzone. So, Chad just got lucky against Champ.

i don't remember that in the Bible. is it from a hymn?

heh heh, Boondock Saints I believe. Great movie, somewhat in the same vein as, say, Snatch/Lock Stock, only it doesn't really take itself as seriously, and is therefore hilarious. One of my favorite movies all-time.

Chad got 7 receptions for 149 yards on Champ. He had Champ more than once deep...but Palmer missed. Not counting the TD where Champ slipped (Chad's route was very good on that play), Chad still had 6 catches for 99 yards, which is still very impressive against the best cornerback in the NFL. So Chad really did perform better vs. Champ on MNF.

Good list but I'm not so sure there are many more.

I give Champ the edge over CJ.

On a related note, when you are looking at premiere WR (Moss, Owens, etc.) you need to also look at the safeties. More times than not, they're going to be covering over the top.
