I don't expect Faulk to e ver be the player he once was. Edge shouldn't be among the first 8 RB taken. If it comes down to Faulk or Edge, there is some risk with easch. James wasn't ready last year. It was only 9 months since his injury. Players do not come back that quick. Edge's supposed health issues vs. Faulk's chronic knee problems. Seems like a push to me. Edge and Faulk were consensus top 2 picks a couple years back. Either could regain their status, but I think Faulk's continuing problems make him a riskier pick, but with a higher reward if he returns to his former self (which I doubt).
Ricky Williams was labelled an injury risk, this year he is a top 2 pick. I don't lend much to a player getting injured once or twice in his pro career (assuming he doesn't hurt his knee twice). A player like Fred Taylor obviously has proven to be an injury concern to his owners. Faulks chronic knees should be a concern. Priest re-gaining his form is an issue, but a fading one. Ricky dislocating an elbow and spraining an ankle are not injury issues.
Any knowledgeable player should have known Edge was a BIG risk to have a good season last year. He should not have been out there so soon. I think he has a good chance to rebound and score 10 TD's.
If it comes down to Edge or Faulk at pick 8 (assuming Ricky LT Portis Priest Duece Shaun Henry are gone), you either have to take a chance on one of them, or go for a WR or QB.
