Well, my gameball has to go to Rudi Johnson. The guy has been the butt of many jokes on the forum and elsewhere, and sometimes unfairly gets lumped into the group of "bust" players for 2004. People in the cafe chat were telling me to sit him in favor of Andre Johnson at my flex position this week. But, I stayed hard and fast to my "always start the starting running back" rule and played Rudi for the 10th time this year.
Rudi has slowly put in a very very solid season. 1049 yards (6th in the league, with 4.2 ypc) and 7 touchdowns. My team is 11-1, and he is the highest scoring player on my team that's not a QB (i.e. Drew Brees). Not only that, but he's one of only a few feature backs not to find himself on the injured list so far this season - that's with 248 rushing attempts (2nd only to Curtis Martin in the NFL). I'm shocked, but besides Brees to Gates (which has been my meal-ticket this year), Rudi is my MVP.
