Next Season - Jamal Lewis or Willis McGahee?

Granted Lewis is the more established back and we only have a small sampling of what McGahee can do but does anyone here think that McGahee might be ranked ahead of Lewis come draft time next season? I think that McGahee is going to be mentioned with the other studs - Holmes, Alexander, Green, James, Lewis, Portis (even though he's done nothing), McAllister, Barber, Martin etc., but where would we put him in this list of runningbacks? Could he actually be ranked near the top ahead of Jamal Lewis?

I think it is too early to tell. You should wait and see at around week 15 to make your decision.

You've got to project 5-8th pick range for those two. Who would you pick? It's hard to go against McGahee because if you average out his production, he's a top 5 RB. Given a full season, full off season, full preseason to prepare, it's hard to rate him below top 5. To me it's the yardage he's producing, where Henry couldn't. He has some great speed, breakaway ability, and if they address that O line, plus you have Evans who is starting to come on. It might be a little early, but next year their O might be top 10.

All that being said, with heap back, Boller growing, I like lewis as a semi sleeper due to this off year. If he slips to 7th-10th range, I think he's a steal. Mcgahee might be top 5 pick just on hype alone. I just can't bring myself to take McGahee top 5, I think with the top5 pick you need a history of success, not a good 1/2 year from a rookie. I place him ahead of Brown, but in the same 2nd round steal category.

From what ive seen of Willis I would rather have Mcghaee next year.

As long as Jamal is running behind Ogden and McGahee is running behind... whatever that is in Buffalo, I'll take Jamal.

I'd not pick one yet wait at least till after the draft and see if they pick O-Line help etc.

If the draft were today I'd take JLew..... It really is too early to predict these things though.
