You should make it exciting where the money is a function of the point differential.

i.e. make it $10 per point difference and if Kicker A gets 8 points and Kicker B gets 5 points, Player A gets $30.

This is EXACTLY why our league uses a lottery for the draft order, just like the NBA. Only difference is that all teams in the league are in it.

About the bet: it's stupid. Why take kickers, the hardest to predict, and bet on that. It's why betting on a maiden horse race is stupid, unless you know the trainer or hang around the stable. Not enough info. You could just send your $$$ to me and I could find a better way to bet it.

Simple solution.

Start all your guys but agree on only counting the points by your kicker to determine the bet. That way noone gets screwed and you get to have your fun.

Absolutely. Start a normal roster, avoid screwing your friends and the other league members, and you can still have your stupid side bet.
