Im not talking about offenses that were together for years and were always good. Im talking about an offense that dominated the most for one year. You pick a year that you feel had an offense thats dominating as much as this years colts are.
Here's my ten top offenses, not in exact order, but roughly.
2000 rams (was still insane when warner was hurt)
83 redskins (dont hear enough about the hogs)
98 vikings
84 dolphins
81 chargers
50 LA rams
94 49ers
63 G-men
41 Bears
62 Packers
Im young, but i have this obsession with Offense in the NFL, and my preseason SB picks will always reflect that. (Indy over Philie this year, Indy over ST.louis last year) Obviously not the best strategy for winning, but i look at past offenses so often i cant help but have a bias towards that side of the ball.
If Indy keeps playig the way they are, i think im gonna put them up top that list, or right after the rams.
In all my years of watching football, the one offense that stood out the most to me, before this season, was the Rams offense when they were at their peak. This Colts team is right up there. I know I sound like a homer for saying this, but I think I'll give the nod to Indy only because they're spreading the touchdowns better than the Rams did.
I've never seen an offense this potent where so many targets are involved in the scoring. 3 recievers with double-digit TD's and over 1,000 yards. A top RB, on pace for 1,500 yards. The best TE tandem in the league. A top-notch kicker. They make me proud to be a Colts fan.
I'd have to say the Colts have the best offense I've ever seen. It's a synergy though; alone they're good payers, but together - they're amazing. Edge makes Manning good because of the PA, which in turn makes Wayne, Stokley, and Harrison good. And Wayne, Stokley, and Harrison make Edge better by spreading the defense. And then of course having Manning at the pivot doesn't hurt.
It'll be interesting to see how they perform once the synergy is broken up. Will they keep Edge? If not, will Rhodes pick up the slack? Should be fun to find out.

I still can't believe the Browns only put up 17 total yards of offense. That's just outrageous. According to ESPN, that's the lowest output a team has generated in a quarter century. The lowest output ever is actually -7 yards (Seattle vs. L.A. on November 4, 1979). That's right, negative seven. Scary.
Being extremely biased, I have to go with the nineties Cowboys. Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin, Alvin Harper, Darrell "Moose" Johnston, Jay Novacheck, Larry Allen... what a stud offense.
2000 Rams and '04 Colts definitely qualify though.
