Why is Mason returning punts?

Why in the hell would you have your best receiver returning punts? Titans are thin at WR as it is.

I wonder that myself. Santana Moss does it too. I guess they feel he's their best chance at getting yardage on the punts. I think McCareins used to do it, but he's gone now.

Well Mason used to be the best KR and PR a couple years back, and I guess since McCareins is gone and Eddie Berlin is rather fumble-prone, they're putting someone with good mitts and return ability back there.

I just looked at the Titans depth chart. There are two guys ahead of Mason at PR and KR. Titans are banged up so I am assuming those two guys ahead of Mason are hurt.

Check that. The guy ahead of Mason can't catch the damn ball and can't get away from it either. All makes sense now.

He's the only one they trust to hang on to the ball. They've worked Waddell, Fleming, & a couple others. No one has really stepped up & showed they could consistently hang on to the ball.
