Best Buy League, week 14

Postby 204BC » Tue Dec 14, 2004 11:38 am

Boy did I botch it up this week. The cutoff for prizes was 292 points, I scored 289, my best week yet. Here’s the part that kills me. I have pretty much used up most of the usual suspects for tag players at this point in the season (Manning, CPepper, Priest, etc) and I didn’t feel really strongly about any of the players I had on the roster this week. It came down to Drew Bennett or Julius Jones. I picked JJ, considering he had what I believed to be a very favorable matchup with New Orleans. Here’s how it worked out, Julius Jones scored 19 points, with the 2x tag on him I got 38. Drew Bennett scored 53!!, If I had tagged him I would have gotten 106!!! Let’s do the math, 289 minus 19 = 270, now add 53 and I get 323, which would have tied me for first place!!! Crap, that’s about as close as I’m going to get I think. Please excuse me while I go bang my head against a wall……..

Yeah, I did exactly what you did (tagged Julius and had Bennett in there), but I didn't get anywhere near the points you did.

I did outscore everyone in the Cafe League this week though! Yay for me! ;-D

That sucks...nice picks, though.

I did horrible...I really took a gamble with my tag, thinking that the Oakland D would get shredded. Shredded? Yes...but by freaking TJ Duckett...ugh.

Vick X2
Hasselbeck
Droughns (ugh)
McAllister
A. Green (ugh)
Horn
D. Mason (wrong Titan)
D. Jackson
Gates (oh boy...)
Vanderjagt
K. Brown...hmm...
Cardinals...leaves a lot to be desired.
Total of a pathetic 167. :-t

And upon further review, just as sappy, too."

This was my first week in a long while that my tag laid an egg. I had Reuben Droughns.
:-o :-o

Lowest scoring week in a while... 169 points and I'm out of the top 1,000 now.
