the commish of the league offered william green and andre johnson for rod gardner and fred taylor...

i feel that this trade is totally unfair...if the other team accepts this trade can the league still veto it?...or the commish can do whatever he wants?

I'm with DUKE, not sure I see the objection to this one. Taylor's a liability and Green's a good young back. Seems pretty straight up to me.

just to echo the thoughts, you only want to veto a trade if it violates the 'competitive spirit of the league', meaning that some form of collusion or a gross injustice is occuring.

now, personally, a case could be made that the guy getting taylor (if healthy) and gardner (a third year guy) over green (and up and comer) and johnson (rookie) is getting a better deal that many would not make.

of course, i have seen on this forum people ask if before last season, someone traded marshall faulk for clinton portis, peerless price and lavernous coles would the trade have been judged 'unfair'....maybe.

well in my opinion taylor is better than green...if he doesnt go down to injury...

gardner is better than johnson...johnson hasnt proven himself yet...can be really break out this season with HOUSTON?... i highly doubt it...

The trade, at this point, looks a bit in the favor of your commish, but it still is not veto material. Some arguments against the two he landed could be that Taylor is always hurt and has a schedule from Hell, and that Gardner will now have to take the back seat to Coles (though I don't 100% agree with those arguments). There are probably people out there who are big on Andre Johnson and think he may break out as a rookie, racking up #'s as they play from behind. Some probably look at the stretch William Green had to close the season and see monster #'s from him due to his upside.
