Camp Cheney: Day 17

SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER STAFF

Morris is forcing the coaches to come up with ways to get him on the field and get the ball in his hands.

"I think as coaches, we are going to recognize the talents that Maurice brings, and we are going to find a way to get all the guys that are on offense and have skills some carries," running backs coach Stump Mitchell said.

How many carries might that translate to for Morris?

"I don't think he'll get 100. He might, but I don't know," Mitchell said. "I would say somewhere in the neighborhood of 75."

FYI.

I posted this back in mid july, I also downgraded Alexander on my sheets because of this kind of talk, add to that the fact that Morris looked great in the pre season game the other day, if I were an Alexander owner I would start to be worried.

It almost seems like a bad dream, but unfortunately I’m here to tell you it wasn’t. Do you remember when Holmgren was flirting with the idea of giving backup running back Maurice Morris more touches? If not, let me remind you of how he responded to reporters’ questions on that same topic. "We're trying to find something to make us click, this will give us maybe a little spark, a little change. ... We've been throwing mud against the wall and it keeps falling off. Maybe some of this will stick." If Morris ends up sticking in the Seahawks game plan even a little—and I’m not saying that he will—it would cause do serious damage to Alexander’s value. Watch closely how the Seahawks choose to rotate Morris into the backfield to make sure he’s not pilfering any touches from Alexander.

Alexander... what?

Postby cmorgan0596 » Tue Aug 26, 2003 5:02 pm

Man, you sound like a rocket scientist disecting a satellite. Alexander will not lose that many carries to Morris. You are the only person that I have heard anything negative from regarding Alexander. He will have every opportunity to keep his job.

Of course you realize my post wasn't my opinion..rather a quote from and actual real life Seattle Seahawk RB coach. Right?

Find me a quoted article saying Seattle is dissatisfied with Maurcie Morris.
