First live draft tomorrow, any tips appreciated.

Postby xbird » Wed Aug 13, 2003 6:25 pm

I have my cheat sheet using our leagues scoring system. Pre-
ranked the first 50 non qbs and plan on using ESPNs live draft
results to pick up reserves. In our 10 team league, I will draft
a rb in the first round, after that, I plan to pick the best available
non QB and will log the other teams picks by positions so I get
one of my top 11 QBs. Any suggestions appreciated.

Rb pool is thin. Go RB #1 and #2. Plenty of QB's in the draft. Third round take a look at the WR's if a hot one has fallen far pick him up otherwise grab the best QB.

My tips, have fun, do lots of trash talking, but be quick when its your turn. Already have the guy in mind for your next round, and if someone takes him immediately choose another. That way when they come around to you you won't have to hold everything up digging for somebody. If your going to have some adult beverages, have one or two, hold off on any more until after the draft.

The guys above me gave great tips.

I can only add, bring something for the other coaches to look at. I bring magizines (non football). I also bring a small football and a few small football books(non fantasy) for people to look threw. I don't push them. Lastly I don't give any advice till the really late rounds after I have got all my guys I wanted.
