If you could do that - it would a no brainer, otherwise it's a matter of choice.

Personally, I would be very hesitant to trade away half of your Manning to Harrison combo ....for many reasons
1) Favre as a backup
2) James "appears" ready to return to old form thus opening the passing game and entire offense that much more.
3) unless a trade is obviously exploitable ...I dont care to trade until at least the fourth week.
4) although they finished strong last year, I am not entirely convinced the Vikings are ready to give up their Jeckyll and Hyde complex.

For that matter, is Favre really too good of a QB to be left on the bench as a backup? Should he not be better than some teams #1 QBs in a 12 team league? Would I be better off trading him for a backup RB and then picking up someone like Jeff Blake for my backup?
I would wait for Garcia's owner to realize he is in trouble because
of Garcia's back. And trade Tennessee's d plus Favre for his D,
(it has to be better than ours) plus his backup QB. Of course, this
assumes he has one of the best ds. Our d scares the hell out of
me.
Garcia's owner has Kerry Collins as his backup, so I don't know if he'd consider Favre to be a huge backup to Collins. He has Miami's defence.
The defence's on waivers are the Chargers, Bears, Giants, Rams, Broncos, Browns, Cowboys, Jags, Redskins, Colts, 49ers, Jets, SeaHawks, Texans, Chiefs, Lions, Bengals, Cards, Bills and Vikings. Are any of those worth getting rid of Tennessee to pick up?
Offer Favre, and Tn for Mia and Collins. Who knows, he may be
a cheesehead who hate the Giants. Nothing ventured, nothing
gained. IMO, Miami is the second best d, huge upgrade for you.
You missed my point. Favre is a huge upgrade over Garcia.
Do your homework, there are several "gloom and doom"
articles about Garcia and his bulging disc requiring an epidural
for the pain. Refer him to those articlles and wait for him to
accept your trade offer.
Or I guess I could wait for the season to begin and hopefully for him to get especially desperate if Garcia goes down or starts stinking up the joint. That might give me even more leverage and maybe I could get a better TE for Favre too.
