Can you get a good QB late in the draft ?

In my case, the answer is a huge YES. got Manning in the 5th
round and was amazed that McNair was availble in the 9th round.
10 team league. I know them both very well and am going to
have a blast spot starting them based on the other teams D.

I got McNair in the 7th round of a 12 team league and Plummer in the 12th round.

19 years of playing this poor man's addiction .....

and how many times have I drafted a quarterback in the first round ?? twice 85 with Marino ....and 95 Young
guess that makes me "due" in two years ....but honestly, my rule of thumb as with many others is to slide on quarterbacks. The real trick is trying to outguess the other nine or so teams in your league as to the best round to exploit the quarterback position.

good luck

How Qbs are ranked and drafted is always weird in my leagues.

For example... I just got Maddox in the 13th round, which is really crazy when you consider Ward and Burress were gone by the 2nd pick of the 5th round !

Wow, I must say that you truely got a steal with Manning in the 5th. And I thought I was lucky in getting Warner in the 7th, Hasselbeck in the 13th and Plummer in the 15th! And I agree, receiving teammates may go very quickly, but the guy who throws to them may go much, much later (as someone cited with Maddox and Burress/Ward). It's weird how that works sometimes. Oh, and in my 8+ years of fantasy experience, I have drafted a QB in the 1st round exactly once (Elway '96), and never made that mistake again.
Winning truely IS everything.

I've been waiting until only a couple serviceabvle starting QB's are left, nabbing Brooks in the 10th round of on edearly draft (before the shoulder was deemed healthy), Bledsoe in the 10th, Brady and Hasselbeck the 12th. Favre and Trent Green would have been available a couple picks earlier.

Seems like a good year to wait on a QB to me.

Manning in the 5th is great and I usually hold off on QBs until at least teh fifth unles one of the elite guys slips till late third. usually brady, maddox, hasselbeck, bledsoe, c-pen, can be had in the 7th or later

We did a live draft tonight ... 14 team league ... almost all high school football coaches who have never played fantasy. Of the 14 first round picks, there were like 11 quarterbacks taken. Weirdest thing I've ever seen in a draft. Then they started in on WR's ... I felt lucky to get Hasselbeck in the 5th.

qbs will fall late in drafts. ull be able to get bledsoe, mcnair, warner, hasselback, pennington, brady or maddox in rounds 4 to later. all r worthy of starting or backups. but id advise to take 2 of these guys/
