Rate Your Online League Manager

Postby toy4x4 » Wed Dec 29, 2004 11:21 am

My league is wanting me to look for alternative sites to host the league next year. cbssportsline.com is up to $130 which is over 20% of our entry fees.. With that said, they do want live stats. The rest is my preference for being able to run the league.

Anyone know a site with ratings for other league managers?

Where did you host your league and what was good/bad about the site.
QB: 1pt per 20 Yds Passing - 4pt Passing TD
RB/WR/TE: 1pt per 10 Yds Rushing/Receiving - 6 pts per TD
K: 1 Pt per XP - 3 pts per FP - 6 pts per +50 FG

Yahoo told me that next season there will be a commish rater, where if your commish is unfair, you can rate him down, or if your commish is great, you can give him a 5 star rating.

switched from sportsline and none of my owners had any complaints.

live scoring, message board, total league managment, content, and creative control.

70 bucks a season.

That being said, I'm developing a league management java platform (well...the wife is doing all the leg work..) because I'd like to use a homebrew site. So now I'll have to worry about finding someone that offers scoring to homebrew leagues.

I ran one league this year on EASports. The season cost was $100 which included a ton of scoring options as well as live, updated scoring as well as an affiliation with Rotowire, etc... Overall, I had to say that it was pretty good and most of the folks in the league thought it was nice. Two negative things about it: 1) It takes a long time to get onto the site and for it to load and 2) there is some sort of scoring glitch that made defenses accountable for touchdowns that were scored against their offense by the opposition defense thereby running up a score on them. I never was able to get resolution on this item.

Agreed that Sportsline is too expensive. Yahoo is too cheap. :-t

Can tell you from first hand experience that this site will be one of the best. If you like customization, this is it. It's not live yet, but it will be next year.
