"Jake is a great guy, a good quarterback," Brookssaid. "He's on a team that plays well together. I'm the exact opposite. I'm a great quarterback, and I'm on a team that's kind of struggling and been very inconsistent a lot of the time.
"I've been able to do some great things. There's no comparison."
now, I've heard him called a goofball, sport goofy, or the sport version of martin lawrence... after this quote, however, I think he's an idiot and generally full of himself.

Sounds like a job for Terrible Terry Tate-attitude adjustment specialist! "You're throwing to the wrong team...whoo whoo, here comes the pain trian, whoo whooooo."
I wonder if Brooks hasn't been dipping into the Rasta sauce, cause he sure sounds as stoned as Ricky Rasta. I bet his teammates would love to let a D-lineman have a free crack at this knucklehead.
I think, therefore I am. I think fantasy, therefore I am unreal?

I'm just curious what those great things he's talking about are. Playoff performances? Great stats? What? I'm confused how someone can claim to be great and not done a damn thing in his career. Maybe he heard Marbury say it and he thought it sounded cool. Marbury's a dumbass for saying it but at least he has some sort of stats to back it up. Brooks has NOTHING!!
So they weren't the best...and may have ended the worst. SO WHAT!
I don't want to be put on record as actually defending this quote, but I think anyone who plays any sport at a high level--especially one as demanding as QB--needs to have a high amount of self-confidence. Even if it's slightly cocky.
Of course while I and most everyone else finds this delusional, if he didn't have this kind of "I can win it every down" attitude he probably would be riding the pine. And his final numbers aren't exactly "crap" like most people want to think, he just didn't live up to expectations.
As a matter of fact, if he didn't throw as many interceptions as he did, he would have had a pretty nice year.
Having said that, while the final stats look pretty good his game to game numbers certainly aren't the depiction of "consistency" he's complaining the rest of the team lacks.
As a Deuce owner I'm hoping Brooks and Haslett are not back next year. They need a coach that is committed to the running game and a QB more like Dellhome!
