Justin Fargas ?

Postby Yianni2112 » Sat Aug 16, 2003 12:17 am

After two preseason games ( Yes I know it's only preseason) Fargas has rushed for 17 carries for 72 yds
Followed by 18 carries for 126 yds and a TD

Last time I posted this it seemed like a stretch.
After these two preseason games and the fact that Fargas was one of the nations most explosive backs in the second half of last season makes me take a second look.

I'm in a dynasty league and looking to draft a rookie with the #4 pick.

My list is:

and now Fargas.

Any input or news on Fargas would be very helpful....THANKS!!

Garner will not be back next year, so Fargas should be the starter next year.

The Raiders had a helluva draft. TE Teyo Johnson and Fargas look to have excellent futures in Oakland.

...and it's always cool to have the son of a 70's TV pimp on your squad.

Fargas did look really good. He is strong, quick and fast. The only draw back on him is his injury history. He has had some really bad injury spells from what I've heard. Steel rod and pins in his leg, surgery and lots of rehab. I don't know the details but I'm sure if you do a search for them you will find it. Looks like a really good sleeper for your dynasty. Also take a look at Musa Smith in Baltimore. If Jamal Lewis goes down he will shine. And Georgia has a great history of producing great NFL RB's.

Good Luck.

Musa Smith=90s Emmitt Smith

so Musa's future is pretty bright. i will get him off waivers soons as Lewis goes down. if i were in a keeper league i would have drafted him already

First of all I wouldn't be so sure that Lewis is going down...that's no way to plan a season. As for keeper picks, I'd take McGahee, O. Smith and Fargas in that order...but if it were that easy, we'd be getting paid to do this! Good luck. The only way Musa plays is if Lewis gets hurt.

HuggyBear? Not a chance. The guy is literally held together with pins, rods, nuts, bolts, chewing gum, and some string, and you're talking about taking him in a keeper league? I dont care how good he was for half a yr of college and 2 preseason games.

What about Labrandon Toefield??? Theres your rookie keeper.

Dont let your heart get in the way of your head. Fargas is a trainwreck waiting to happen.

And if someone brings up overranked Larry Johnsons sorry butt, your gonna get a wedgie.

More comments on rookie RB's:

Willis McGahee
He's a huge risk but he's the top talent on this list.

Onterrio Smith
Value is good this year and then in future years if he does well.

Justin Fargas
He's lighting it up in camp and looks like a future starter for Oak.

Artose Pinner
He's old for a rookie but has a good chance of starting here in 1-2 years.

Larry Johnson
Could step in for Holmes at any time but maybe not for a few years.

Chris Brown
Upside is there as the potential replacement for E. George.

LaBrandon Toefield
Has some future potential if Taylor's injuriy woes continue.

Tony Hollings
He's doing well and has a chance to be RB of the future here.

Musa Smith
He would be a good pick if he had a chance to start. Needs an injury to Jamal Lewis.

Lee Suggs
May only be the #3 RB here the next few years.
