Another 8-8 year, but thats about the most you can ask with a first-year starter at QB and countless defensive injuries that forced them to start 4-5 rookies at times. I was at the Philadelphia game as well as the Baltimore game at Baltimore, and I am very impressed with what I see. I believe we have one the better coaches and offensive cores in the game, and we definitely have a few promising defensive players. If we can sure up the defense, I see no reason why the Bengals can not go to the playoffs next year (I know we say that every year).

Things were looking bad at the beginning of the season and we certainly changed things around just like we did the previous year. Carson really grew up in his last few games and we saw some glimpses of what he is capable of, next year should be exciting as hell, thats for sure (especially if we dont end up having one of the hardest schedules again).

We did have more people than we could count on the IR this year, which was a real shame, but I also think that it let a lot of these younger guys step it up and realize that they could keep up w/ the speed and play of the NFL.

Next year should be interesting, and our team will look much different than we do now. We should have a lot of those IR guys back, should have an easier time bringing in FA's since we are now a proven ... (id say winner but only being .500 ill go w/ 'non-loser :-b ) and Marvin should get some more of his kinds of players in the draft. Sadly, it looks like Warrick may have some trouble coming back from his injury (at least that is what someone had posted they read in the leftovers forum), Rudi is most likely out (which is incredibly scary since we werent even able to see Perry this year but I still think its for the best as Rudi doesnt really fit into what Marvin wants to do w/ the offense), TJ is going to be a FA, Kitna will most likely be traded, and whoever else.

I was impressed with how well and poised our rookie and second year players played, after basically getting thrown into the fire. I'm stoked (homer) about next year, and anything short of making the playoffs and actually advancing at least a game will be disappointing to me personally. I think we will be fine. If Rudi wants to make the Quan, then I'm ok with letting him test FA, and signing someone for a bit less, alah Dominick Rhodes, Lamont Jordan, Derrick Blaylock, etc. I think our line and offense is conducive to RB success. It's unfortunate that Perry was injured, because I think a healthy Perry would have made letting Rudi go much easier. I still though, think there's a chance that we could see both Rudi and TJ back. You have to think that the D will continue to vastly improve as the youth and experience start catching up to each other. Even without any FA signings in the offseason, our defense will improve next year (though a D Tackle would be awfully sweet). I like the continued progress of Robert Geathers at DE. Madieu...we already know he's a STUD in the making, if not already. Landon plays SO much bigger than his size. Keiwan is and will continue to be a great draft pick. Larson has answered the call at punter.... Basically, were young and getting better and better very fast. I already can't wait for next year :-o
