Chargers Owner is an IDIOT

Postby UNDEFEATED » Tue Jan 04, 2005 8:41 pm

Spanos the Charger owner apparantly only gave the assistant coaches $10,000 playoff bonus. That is crap. These guys may end up leaving this team and he will be stuck with nothing. The Charger owner has always been cheap. And this could really hurt the team in the playoffs and into next season. I am neglecting to mention other playoff bonuses due to coaches and players.

He was also too cheap to sign LT when he first came and during his extension. And on top of that he was slow to sign RIvers, although this worked out. Because of Brees's success. The agents and players never budged from their demands and the owner payed them anyways. So in the long run he held out as an owner and caved in anyways pointless and stupid. This is why the Chargers will never be able to sustain anything.

Stupid Spanos.

He must be doing something right, unlike the pathetic management running the OAKLAND RAIDERS. Sounds like someone is jealous...

the coaches don't deserve a bonus. it's their job to get into the playoffs. same for the players. They should, however, get additional game checks for however many games they play in the playoffs.

At least the Chargers' owner didn't give Terry Donahue a 4-year contract extension.

I dont know... if I'm an ASSISTANT coach in the NFL, $10,000 is a nice deal, dont you think?

These guys aren't even co-ordinators yet, probably rack in a low 6-figure salary, so I wouldnt consider a 5-10% bonus on your yearly paycheck something to sneeze at. Seriously, how many of us would expect 5-10% bonuses on an annual salary, even with a "productive" year?

i'd say he is pretty smart. He ripped the giants off pretty nice I think. And didn't they trade with atlanta or something? i think I'd rather have LT and brees than vick at this point.

I think I'd rather have Brees alone than Vick at this point. ;-)

Hopefully the Chargers' owner will continue to be a penny pincher so that Brees will indeed become a free agent and Dallas can sign him.
