Rodgers should be the top QB taken in the draft, but Alex Smith is supposedly flying up the draft charts and should be a top 5 pick.
*shameless plug* Look for a mock soon. *shameless plug*
Cheese, I agree with you, of course, as my above explanation reads, but I think the reason he's staying is because he loves college life. That's just what I think...staying for a chance to win a NC is just another "right thing to say."
Interesting that Smith is moving up that quickly. Good for him.
I totally see the financial end of this arguement but let's look at it through his eyes. He just won his 2nd NC(last year he shared 1/2), just won the Heisman so from that aspect he's sitting on top of the college football world. He's got to be uber popular in the LA scene that is football starved plus we all know that LA loves a winner so I'm sure he's getting showered with adoration there. The NFL $s will be there (injury not withstanding) so why not live in the moment. Have you seen some of the lady folk that he's been linked with btw?
I like simple pleasures, like butter in my ass, lollipops in my mouth. That's just me.

I hope not. This makes it, for me, more probable that we draft someone like Rolle. But what do I know :-\. Its been my belief all along that we first build the OLine, and then see if we want to draft a QB after atleast next year. If san fran still wants Lienhart next year, and we are in the position to do so, I will take it much more openely then taking a QB this year.
Who else could/will be available at QB next year? ( i dont watch much college )
I'm very happy that he is staying at USC next year. He made the right decision for the following reasons:
1) San Francisco. WHo wants to play for the 49ers??
2) Education. He won't be a QB util he dies, so it's good that he's getting an extra year of college so he'll be successful after football.
3) Football. He'll get more practice for the NFL, and he'll get more playing time in the NFL in 2 years than he would this year. Plus he won't be the next Eli Manning in his frist few games.
