Since Mercer knows everything, I've decided to start a thread that will keep us occupied during the season. If you have any question at all, ask Mercer and he'll be sure to give you an answer. I'll start.

Dear Mercer,

I'm stuck on my homework. Here are a few questions that I'm stuck on:
1) What's a parabola? (algebra)
2) How many british soldiers died in the Battle of New Orleans in the War of 1812? (history)
3) What is the equation for kinetic energy? (physics)

Well, I'm no Mercer, but I can answer 2 of those.

1) a parabola is a type of graph, usually with a formula looking like y = x². The graph looks like a half oval kinda thing.

3) KE = 1/2m * v²
KE - kinetic energy
m - mass
v = velocity

Hey, no answering my questions. For the record, I knew those two. :-[

That middle one...no idea. That isn't something that is common knowledge nor is it very useful. All I know is the dang fight should have never happened; the war was over anyway. :-B

I was actually just testing you guys, I actually knew the answers, but you got the kinetic energy wrong. The equation is KE=[m(v squared)]/2

I'm starign at my science textbook right now and that is the answer.
