Do you think our good ole sheriff will come to the plate and pony up for his boy Randy. I'm thinking Denny is salivating at the chance to steal Moss but if does end up getting him. Getting anything less than Boldin or Fitzgerald in return will be a mistake. Lining up Fitz next Burleson would be a nice duo for C-pep.

The goal is getting an early pick. Derrick Johnson should be the reason a trade would happen. The Raiders look to be the earliest Johnson would go, there is an outside chance the Titans could select him with the 1.06 pick.
Do NOT be surprised if the Titans are included in a 3-team trade in which they would fall from 1.06 to 1.07 and would get an extra pick/player from the Raiders.
Right now, from what I have been told and believe, this is the most likely trade, should one happen.
Vikings give up Randy Moss; receive Phillip Buchanan (Oakland), 2005 pick 1.06 (Titans), 2006 3rd round pick (Oakland).

Im not liking the idea of moss for an early pick and buchannon... Buchannon is nowhere near a shutdown corner, and I dont think we have 3 years to wait for a good pick to emerge. I think we need a few veteran players on defense and maybe a 1st or second round pick. Moss is too good for just 1 pick and phillip buchannon
I would hope they can get more than that. Buchanan is good but to give up the best player in the NFL and get a decent CB along with an unproven rookie who may or may not be good. If they would do something like this, I would hope they bring in another wideout that can replace Moss like a Burress or Porter for example along with someone like Darius who would vastly improve our secondary against both run and pass. I don't think the Vikes are that far off from being a legit superbowl contender but they need to fill the holes and with McCombs as owner. I don't think he will do that as it will cost him money.

I think that it wouldn't be smart to trade Randy Moss. He is the heart and soul of that team even with all of his antics. Just look at the Vikings record prior to his injury. (I believe they were 5-1 or something when he first tweaked the hammy?) Then just look at what happened when he couldn't play. Randy Moss is the most talented player in football, and you can't just throw away proven talent for a veteran, over the hill corner, and a risky draft pick.
I dont possibily understand why the heck you would trade a player with the talent of randy moss for a player like Phillip Buchanan and a 1st rounder. Buchanan who is often injured ,isnt a great corner. A better then average corner isnt worth moss. I would need a top corner and damn near mike ditka draft giveaway for #84 rounds 1-7.

Personally, I wouldn't want Randy Moss traded. But, if teams are going to overpay, bring it on. We need a defensive stud. We already have offensive stud Daunte Culpepper. We need someone to carry our defense as well. I agree, Buchanan is not what I'm looking for (I'm a diehard Brian Williams fan).
If the Vikings pull off a trade I would want a first round selection (which is why I prefer Oakland over Baltimore) and a starting CB or LB. I think the most likely trade would be Charles Woodson, Oakland's 1.07 pick, and another pick that is either a 3rd rounder this year or an earlier pick next season.
Bottom Line: I want Derrick Johnson.

How would you feel about John Abraham and 1st rounder (26 pick) and a 2nd rounder next year? You can get a good Corner with that first rounder. (Carlos Rogers perhaps?)
