Yeah,that's how it's pronounced,just wasn't sure "long a" was the right call.

The way I always pronounce "genre" is

"jon" (like the second syllable of dijon, the mustard), "ruh"

A for-sure pronunciation of the word is "john-ruh."

But, you're still not tackling "l'il." :-)

Like "L'il Abner" - do you say "Little Abner," or do you try to cut off the t's and end up saying "Llll Abner." :-?

I truly think you need to be missing your Adam's apple (or your gag reflex) to say "l'il" correctly." :-P

Is it too much of a challenge for you all?!?! }:-)

Haha, so true! I just took your advice and tried saying l'il.. and something in my throat made a bubbling and gurgling noise.

Try taking the "ly" off of lilly. You get lil, which is basically how to pronounce "l'il".
