$7 million against the cap

Peerless Price, WR ATL

News: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Peerless Price would be a candidate to be released this offseason, but his contract is too large.

Analysis: Releasing Price would cost the Falcons $7 million on the salary cap.

What would you do??? obviously he needs a strong WR on the opposite side of him, but what do you do,,,get another WR which would cost you cake or take your losses all seven million of them and walk???? tough but I'd release the bum and take the hit.

tough. he has kinda been a bust. The thing is, I think he has kind of been a bust because the falcons have abandoned their game plan to some degree. Lack of fucs on the pass game will make the wr's look bad.

then again, it was their own mistake for signing him in the first place.

It might be better to take your lumps now.

I would let him go. The Falcons really dont need him all that bad. With the amount that they throw the ball, Price is just taking up cap room. The recievers that they have will can do the same thing that Price does at a lesser cost. I have never really been a big Price fan, he was a product of playing across from Moulds, and obviously the Falcons cant sign another big name reciever and pay Price that kind of money to be a second WR.

I think I would have to see what his hits are against the cap maybe in 2006 if his contract goes that long. A $7M hit is steep for a WR that has become about the 3rd option there. If you are going to take the hit for him, and he is worth a roster spot, you may just be better off keeping him.

It is tough to cut him. I would somehow see if you can renegotiate. No one else is going to want to pick up that contract either.

The only way the falcons could get that 7 million back would be to give Vick away=bad idea. If Vick develops his passing game more, Price could make a good #1 receiver, but that just ahsn't worked out yet. I'd keep him, and wouldn't count him out of having a fine season next year.
