wow the madden curse didnt even wait till the start of the season. i bought madden 2004 today by the way, best game ever, back to the subject. i thought he could break the curse too. kinda ironic, on ESPN.com if you look on the NFL page, vick is in the middle of the page with the headline "toast of the town". 30 seconds later, they post the news hes out for 6 weeks.

vick is gonna miss at least 6 weeks according to chris berman at halftime. they also said he will probably miss a minimum of 4 maybe 5 games. for upcoming drafts id still consider drafting him but not till around 3rd round and with a good backup.

Man that is some tough news...

Course the fantasy football take on this is just to highlight the fact that Qbs are much to fragile to draft early.

Seems like Rbs tear up their own knees trying to cut strong, but Qbs because of their role never quite assume the true runners stance, and they always seem more vulnerable to the defender's hits... Which is why I've never been all that thrilled with the recent trend to get super mobile Qbs. You want a guy that can move (not like Aikman, lol), but ya hate it when their ability is so great that they rely on the run.

So how do you teach Vick to do the safe slide, or just throw the pass away ?

like i said... i like him early 3rd round and later as long as u can get pennington,brady, or maddox or some1 of that calibar as a backup.

Also, don't overlook what this might do to Peerless Price and the rest of the offense. Is it still Doug Johnson as the backup QB? Hmmm.....it's going to be a pretty shaky start for the Falcons to say the least.

Fantasy football aside, this is such a huge hit for football in general. Vick is a one-man highlight show. It's a damn shame he'll be out, great young player. As for drafting him, they say it's one of the injuries that even when he's back, it'll still bother him, and he'll start slow. I wouldn't even consider drafting him now.
