Najeh Davenports value if he leaves GB

Postby Keyser_WV » Fri Jan 28, 2005 8:45 am

PackersNews.com reports the team won't necessarily match a contract offer on Najeh Davenport, who is an unrestricted free agent.

Where do you think Najeh ranks with the likes of Alexander, Henry, Edge, and some of the other free agents out there?

He may generate some interest since his price tag will not be as high as some of the other guys.

He is a big back but does seem to be injury prone. I snagged him up late last year. Hopefully by next season he will be a starter somewhere so I can make him a keeper.

Arizona may be a good fit??

ive always been interested in najeh and now that he might leave the packers that makes things interesting
the problem is that like you said he might get stuck with a bad team, lowering his value. i dont think that hes #1 quality at all, but maybe a poor #2 or a trading prospect.
its tought to say where he can rank with those backs. he looks very talented, but it depends on much more than that. if he gets the right fit he will probably become a good scoring back
i havnt thought about fantasy football in a long time, so this statement probably doesnt make sense

I'd pretty much agree. He's a second tier back with some talent, but nowhere near the level of the other names mentioned.

I personally think Najeh is just as talented as Shaun Alexander.

Actually Najeh is a RFA not an UFA. Depending on the tender from the Pack the odds of him moving are slim.

Me too, I hope he resigns w/ GB. Ahman is a free agent next year and I have no problem letting him go if we have Najeh waiting in the wings.

IF Edge leaves Indy then Najeh should be up the list and I can see him as a possibility for Seattle if SA leaves as well. I don't see him doing well with a team like Miami (forget the bad o-line) who are run-first.
