Proehl expected to retire

Not really important fantasy wise, but Ricky was always a clutch wide reciever. 15 years is a long time though.

I agree that this wasn't really important fantasy wise, so when I posted about this earlier, I didn't think it warranted its own thread creation and so I put it on the Delhomme thread.

Oh Ricky, I'll miss you. :,-(

He was never a superstar or a big fantasy force, but as a Rams' fan he was one of my favorites.

I do respect the longevity, but it was 15 years of fantasy irrelevancy. The guy's best seasons were in 1993 when he had 65 catches for 877 yards and 7 TDs, and in 1997 when he had 58 catches for 753 yards and 7 TDs.

Stuck in Arizona/Phoenix for a long time, got a chance with the GSOT, then kept doing his thing for the Panthers. He always seemed like the guy who was screwing over whichever team I wanted to win with some crazy catch for a big gain. I'm like, "Freaking Ricky Proehl...where did he come from?" He's had a long career and probably had a lot of fun doing what he loved to do. Enjoy the rest, Ricky! ;-D

PS - Apparently he also played for Seattle and Chicago for a few years...journeyman! ;-)
