I don't think this has to do with uninformed voters; there's simply a rift between those who think induction should be determined solely by stats and those who disagree ("and never the twain shall meet...").
At any rate, I hope you won't consider me uninformed if I feel that not only should Namath be in the Hall, but that he's one of the 15 (well, call it 20 to be on the safe side) most Hall-worthy players of the modern era.
Football hasn't ever had a player like basketball's Jordan or hockey's Gretzky who truly transcended the sport, but for a time, Namath came the closest. Omitting him from the Hall would be like writing a book on the history of football, and then ripping out a few key chapters.
