Is Faulk going to accept the backup role so we can see Jackson's full potential?

With Faulk nearing retirement, I can see him accepting the backup role so the future can step forward. Faulk's accomplished pretty much everything a running back could ever hope for. He's been a Pro-Bowler, a Pro-Bowl MVP, a league MVP, a Super Bowl champ and certain first-ballot Hall of Famer. It's time for the future, time for Steven Jackson.

Yeah, this is a professional decision as well as a personal one.

Professionally he has to see that it's time but it's gotta be very hard for him,he has always been a class act though so I see no problems.Marshall on fresh legs heading into the playoffs could be trouble, considering they get that chance.

With his pass-catching abilities and versatility, I still think we see quite a bit of Faulk this year, enough so to temper Jackson's value this year.

It's nice to read and see professional athletes being professional. ;-D

To go to Martz last year and tell him to start Jackson infront of him beccause the rookie was the future is just a class act. He put aside his pride and did what he thought was best of the team, which was to get Jackson more involved in the game plans.

Faulk is a a good person and a great player. I'm glad the rams rewarded him with and extention and it will be good to see him retire a Ram. They should also retire his jersey at that time.

People say Faulk is washed up From a fantasy standpoint, he'll never be the player he was when he redefined the fantasy rb position by being a dual threat. But, from an NFL stand point, he's gotta plenty left on the field as well as helping Jackson become a Pro Bowl rb.
