I think the show you are thinking of was VH1's "Remaking Vince Neil." It was a reality show where they tried to get him in shape for touring by working him out and putting him through some facial plastic surgery. Not sure how it turned out, but my friend, a big Crue fan, says he looked pretty good after all was said and done.

The best album was IMO Dr. Feelgood. The guys were sober, and Nikki wrote some great songs. Everything came together that, that was probably the bands high-point. I'm reading The Dirt right now. I encourage any fan of Mötley Crüe, or any fan of rock and roll music, to go pick it up. Parental Guidance suggested though, it isn't appropriate for the little'uns.
