Former Lions coach Marty Mornhenweg said on WRIF radio this morning the he didn't want to draft Joey Harrington in 2002. He said he felt that #2 was too high to draft Bloey and the team had too many holes to fill. He said that he wanted to either trade down for more picks or take Quentin Jammer. Harrington came in third on his list. This is the first time anyone associated with the Lions has publiclly come out against the drafting of the lame Duck QB. Sorry, should read-Oregon Duck QB.
I found it refreshing to hear a person give his opinion without attempting to trash someone or without trying to be PC.
Funny how things work. If the Lions don't draft Bloey, they go with McMahon who sucks. But this would mean that they would have been free to pick up a vet QB last year or now because they wouldn't have the boatload of cash tied up in a still unproven QB.
I wonder if the drafting of Bloey turns out to be the reason that a team that looks to be ready to make a serious push to contention instead continues to lose games they should win because og poor QB play.
