Favorite Athletes evah?

Postby mutantseabass » Fri Feb 04, 2005 10:16 pm

OK so im bored now all my kids are asleep, i had to come up with something to pass my time. Who are your favorite athletes ever? Any sport, any era, as many as you want.

Mine personally

Hockey: Wayne Gretzky......always have since i was a kid, great player stand up guy.

Football: Terry Bradshaw.....this more or less deals with a rivalry that me and one of my brothers had growing up, plus he was a great qb and a pretty funny redneck if ya ask me.

Baseball: Not a huge baseball fan never really was always liked Andre Dawson though.

Basketball: Joe Dumars......great shooting guard, could do it all, never really got the recognition he deserved. Another reall class act and has built a pretty good team now. Years ago when i serviced furnaces i took care of his house a few time. Met him, quiet guy treated me like a friend and not a service guy, gave me an autographed B-ball for my son without asking for it.

Football2: I gotta throw in Earl Campbell......too bad he couldnt play longer. the guy was a tank would drag half a defence 5 yards. Just loved to watch him run.

I'm totally down with the Joe Dumars. He was always a favorite of mine class act, loved to watch him just be part of the team. Rarely made a mistake. Absolutely brilliant.

Will Clark was my favorite baseball player growing up. During his heyday with the Giants I absolutely idolized him.

Steve Largent for football obviously.

I just liked it when he made a basket and the court announcer would go:

"JooooooOOOOOOOE DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMAAAARRRRS!"

Or something like that. ;-D

Football is Rice, Basketball is probably Magic Johnson, Baseball...really don't have one. If Bonds had just stayed in Pittsburgh, I'm sure he would be the guy.

Hockey - Mario Lemieux! :-)

Good question

Doug Gilmour for me, also love Lemieux, Yzerman, Sakic, and the great one.

Football... tough to say, could be Montana considering theres such a great debate over who the best QB of all time is, and i always side with him. Also love to watch Peyton play, and LT2 obviously

Basketball and baseball are booooring.

Other notable athletes for random sports: Andre Agassi, Tiger Woods, Jeff Gordon, blah blah blah...
