Its hard to compare this new show with the family guy. Give it a year and then try to compare(but I still think there will be no comparison... the family is the Sh*t)
Eh, it had a moment or two that got The 'Cuna laughing. That's good enough for a repeat viewing.
What I don't understand is why FOX aired the pilot of American Dad now and won't be airing the following episodes until May. Won't most people have forgotten all about it by then? The pilot definitely wasn't an instant classic...
'CUNA-MANIA IS RUNNING WILD! "You will be a king here, instead of a peasant at the Cafe."
well, people no doubt remember Family Guy. And seeing as how this show was a Family Guy clone (though less funny), people will know this to be the "new show by the one guy who made Family Guy."
May should be an exciting month for the Family Guy creator... (forget his name... too drunk to look it up). Even though "American Dad" has some potential, this show has "eight episode wonder" written ALL over it.
The way FOX kept screwing around with Family Guy made me not become a fan of the show. When it first came out, I watched it, and I thought it was great. Then they took it off for some insane amount of time for no reason. I thought it was cancelled, and then all of a sudden a year or two ago it comes back on. I never watched it again until my friend bought the DVD's.
They'll do the same thing with this show, and I'll never end up watching it. Nice job in killing your possible viewership, FOX...you have decent programs (i.e. all your comedies), but your stupid series premieres that are 3 months later than everyone else and your starting/stopping of possible hit shows make me forget about them...so I keep on watching cable.
P.S. - I fell on the floor laughing when I saw the Family Guy episode where they went to the synagogue and Peter goes, "I didn't know Optimus Prime was Jewish." Optimus Prime rolls in, transforms, and puts on a yarmulke.

I wasn't impressed. I mean, there were some funny parts and all, but a gay alien? The show has some (even if a tiny bit) promise, but excessive annoyances (Nazi goldfish, gay alien) will probably cause the show to be cut after an episode or two. Just my 2¢.
