I would be absolutely thrilled if the Cowboys gave up one of their first round picks (especially #20) to get Brees. THat would be the steal of the century in my opinion. It would finally solve their QB problems. No more wasting draft picks on QUincy Carter and Drew Henson, no more high salaries for guys like Chad Hutchinson, no more geriatrics like Vinny Testaverde, just a young, Pro-Bowl quarterback for a first round pick.
Unfortunately Bill Parcells in his "infinite" wisdom has said they will not be bringing in any other QB's. Of course this could just be a smoke screen because there's only 3 weeks left until unrestricted free agency begins, and Vinny still doesn't have a contract. That could mean one of 3 things...
1. They let Vinny go and sign Bledsoe.
2. They let Vinny go and hand the reigns over to Henson.
3. They let Vinny go and make the trade for Brees.
I think Brees would be fantastic in Dallas. The Cowboys' offense is very similar to San Diego's in alot of ways. Stud TE: (Gates/Witten) Stud RB: (Tomlinson/Julius - although Julius isn't on Tomlinson's level yet obviously) Decent O-line, adequate wide receivers. There's no reason Brees wouldn't thrive in Dallas.
