Marcell Shipp... a Starter?

Postby footballfreak449 » Wed Feb 09, 2005 4:46 pm

I just drafted this guy in a dynasty league and I was wondering if you guys think he will be a starter, or will they go get someone else to replace him, or Emmitt I guess. I really like him if he does start... Comments?

He is immediately penciled in as the starter but Green has RB as a top priority this offseason. If he stays the starter, I think he'll be a steal in most drafts with the emerging passing game to take pressure off the run.

I can't see it happening. He was benched for Emmitt before he got hurt. I would be shocked if Arizona does not draft a RB with their first pick or sign one of the many FA's.

I'm pretty sure Arizona will try to sign someone like Travis Henry to take care of the run problems rather than start marcel shipp.

i think they will snag another rb..be it in the draft or one of the various free agents floating around this year. whoever ends up the starter there will be a huge sleeper next year. once they do some fine tuning (and adress qb issues) that offense will be a force.

I dont know I thought Shipp had enourmous potential but like said before it all depends on if Denny brings someone in during the offseason my guess is yes he brings in a new starter but if he dosent I think Shipp could put up at least number 2 back type numbers ( fantasy wise )

I think I have them slotted as getting Caddy, though Ronnie's a possibility though. They might trade down a bit, but unless somebody of enormous value (Smith, Johnson) falls down that far, I can't see the Cards passing up on one of the premier RBs in the draft.

Now that Emmitt has retired, the Cards are definitely going to draft a RB. I doubt Cedric Benson will fall that far, but if he doesnt then its gonna be Cadillac.
