i think i am shooting myself in the foot here because it shows how bored i am on vday but here we go.....

2003 games without vick 401.5 yds allowed per game
28.3 points allowed per game

games with vick 338.4 yds
22.2

and won 3 of five to add to the 2 wins i think we had before that.
again, im not saying he is the best but show some respect for numbers other than qb rating. when shaq plays do you think his numbers really imply what his presense means on the court, even if he shoots 30 percent? just a comparision and fair i think.........

vick can throw a bomb but has no touch. I didn't see the pass to holt but I watched the playoff games he could have had atleast 2 more td's if he could lob a ball into the receiver. o and he is the best sthlete and staying on the feild definetely helps the defense but i think there is probabaly 25 qbs that are better passsers in the nfl

And he doesn't play defense, so his individual playing had no bearing on those numbers (well maybe the points, afterall, he does generate a lot of turnovers).

A study looking at what happens to a team's defense when the starting QB goes down due to injury. Turns out, the defense usually isn't effected much by it, so if anything there is reason to believe Vick had nothing to do with the defensive collapse. (Which of course begs the question, how much did he have to do with the wins as the defense put itself back together this year).

I guess if Vick has a great season in his 9th year in the league we can start hailing him as the greatest QB ever, no? Sorry, I just don't feel a 4th year veteran should get treated like a rookie does.

So should we give Joey Harrington 3 more years before being too critical of him? I don't know if Detroit fans could handle that.

Exactly. They're not rookies anymore. It's time for Harrington and Vick (and Aaron Brooks?) to finally show what they're worth.
