Samari Rolle Arrested.

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (AP) -- Titans cornerback Samari Rolle was arrested Tuesday on assault charges from a Valentine's Day altercation with his wife, authorities said.

Police said Danisha Rolle, 27, was treated for a cut over her left eye and released from Baptist Hospital in Nashville Monday night.

Hospital personnel contacted Brentwood Police and authorities obtained a warrant after a preliminary investigation. Police said the incident occurred about 8:30 p.m. Monday.

Rolle turned himself in on a single charge of simple assault, a misdemeanor, Chief Ricky Watson said.

Bond was set at $1,000. Jail officials couldn't immediately answer whether Rolle had posted bond.

Agent Lamont Smith confirmed he had talked to Rolle, 27, regarding the arrest.

"We have no comment," he said.

The Titans had no immediate comment, but a spokesman said they would release a statement soon.

The Rolles have been married since June 2003 and have two children.

His first court appearance is set for Feb. 24.

No one knows the details yet. There are few circumstances in which hitting a woman is okay, but if she was hitting him then she got what she deserved.

I hate the way a woman can abuse a man, and if the man simply defends himself he ends up in jail.
