That could very well happen.
no team in the NFL is trading 2 first round picks for edge.
I really hope you eat those words.
Show me the team that would do this, because I dont see one.
Hey, man. Stranger things have happened, I'm just being an optimist.
Hey opitimisim is all good, but I think this is a case of being realistic. I just read on espn.com that the colts just extended rhodes because edge may hold out regardless of the tag. So this still may work out for you guys. Personally I would trade edge to anyone in the league for just one first round pick. With that o-line i think rhodes can easily be a top ten back.
Sweet! Except for Edge owners, this is great fantasy news because all the essential components will be back in place: Manning, Harrison, and Edge. Grab Reggie Wayne with a middle round pick and Brandon Stokely late.
And with no money left the Colts will still have no defense, so mark the teams they play against next year. If you need a bye week fill-in, you want the QB, WR, or TE of the teams playing against the Colts. You probably don't want the RB since most games against the Colts are track meets with all passing and playing from behind.
Teams playing against the Chiefs, Colts, Titans and 49ers are going to be fantasy goldmines next year!
Even though Edge wants a long term deal, he and Rudi won't get it. After next year Edge is gone regardless. He'll play.... he maybe crazy, but not stupid. He should know that Rhodes can do the job..... I just don't think he can last a whole season.
Would anyone be willing to give up two first rounders when there is talent in the draft and some decent free agents out there?
CBS SPORTSLINE:
News: The Indianapolis Star reports the Colts don't know whether Edgerrin James will be back with the team next season. "What's going to happen, I haven't the vaguest idea," Colts president Bill Polian said. "I don't want to say (James will return), because I don't know."
Analysis: The Colts placed their franchise tag on James, but that doesn't mean the team won't trade him this offseason.
