Watched "Prizzi's Honor" last night. It obviously pales in comparison to the mob movies and shows of today, but for 1985, it wasn't too bad, but it was a little hokey. Anjelica Huston's accent was terribly annoying and there was zero chemistry between Nicholson and Kathleen Turner. The old mob bosses were the most entertaining part of the movie. I guess watching Scarface the day before didn't help much either, but I would still recommend it...just to see Jack in another one of his wacky roles.
Doesn't it suck to get beat at Fantasy Football...by a girl?

Though, I'm under the impression that the movies never stayed true to the books at all anyways. In any case, great action sequences, nice story development. All in all, I think it's very deserving of being a part of the X-men series of films. Though the title hints that this is the last installment of the series, they leave the end very open for a fourth.
9/10
i was disappointed. the first two were excellent films. very true to the series. this one strayed a bit. the special effects were top notch, as one would expect...but i thought this movie sucked. it was entertaining, i'll give it that. but i didn't think it lived up to the first two at all. but that's just my opinion, as an xmen junkie as a kid.
good call. i wrote a pretty lengthy post on the baseball side. it was OK, but nothing really stood out. aside from the main plot, it was basically "how many mutants can we parade out here for no reason". like Angel, basically added nothing to the movie. and all the Morlocks (bad mutants that i dont even know if the movie called them that) were real lame. it's not Batman and Robin bad, but it's definately in a lesser class than the other two

I don't want a Dark Tower movie. It'd totally ruin my image of the characters. Plus it'd probably get all popular and then people would be like, "Oh mah gaadz!! I leik the Dark Tower more than you." And I'd have to slap their asses into place and be like, "Biotch, I started reading those books before your first erection.".... or something like that.
But anyways. I saw "The Ring Two" and "X-men: The Last Stand" today.
i'm torn on this. i think it would be really cool if it was LOTR quality, but i have a feeling it would end up sucking. i wouldnt even mind an animated version or an HBO miniseries.
Marvel comics is eventually going to do some additional stories in collabration with King, but i think it was pushed back until 2007 now

You guys have me anxious to go see X3 now. I'm a die hard, so I will probably be disappointed with the mindless use of extra mutants, and yes things bug me, like "Where is Callisto's eye patch?" & "Is Vinnie Jones really Juggernaut?" But I do enjoy the Dark PHoenix saga and I assume this is loosely based on that story line. I'm also an action junkie, so I hope the action lives up to the first two. I'm also a little upset that Nightcrawler isn't in this film. The FX for him in the last movie were awesome.

you'll probably be disapointed. i dont remember Callisto having superspeed in the comics, is that something they made up. i'm not a Callisto expert though. Vinnie Jones is kind of a lame Juggernaut. as for Phoenix, it's about as loose as you can get

That's not what I wanted to hear. I'm gonna go see it this weekend and judge for myself. And to answer your question, no Callisto didn't have superspeed. She had enhanced reflexes and agility, so I guess I could see adding super speed for the movie's purposes. The Dark Phoenix saga is one of my favorite story lines ever, so if it is really loosely based, I probably will be disappointed. But I've heard mixed reviews, so maybe I'll enjoy myself at least a little bit. Thanks for all the reviews here, guys.

I wondered that as well. Though I will say, I would love to see an Excalibur movie in the works. Though I didn't read many comics as a kid, Excalibur was a rare exception. Very offbeat and entertaining.

If we can do Dare Devil and even worse... Elektra... i'm sure Excalibur wouldn't be out of the question.
