Layer Cake - I like this movie, kept me entertained, was pretty gruesome watching the guy get his face smashed into all that frozen ice Alka-Meter: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7.0 out of 10
The Breakup - I thought i was in for a chick flick, but since it had vince vaughn in it, i had to watch it. The guy is always awesome and keeps his personally in all his movies. This movie wasnt a straight chick flick, it was actually good and i liked it, of coarse i liked vince vaughn in it the most, the guy sits on his ass and plays Grand Theft Auto and Madden all the time.

Just saw American Beauty for the first time. Wow! Amazing storytelling and extremely strong acting from Kevin Spacey and Annette Benning. I already knew Spacey was a stud in the acting department, but Benning really shocked me as the career-oriented, controlling wife. Tremendous peformance from her and a very convincing one at that. Emotions run high for Benning's character throughout the film and there's not one instance where you don't find her interesting. Spacey is hilarious and sad at the same time as the deadbeat husband turned rebel. Watch this film and it's easy to see why he won Best Actor at the Academy Awards.
I'd love to see what's become of Wes Bentley, Thora Birch's quirky neighbor. His performance really stood out as emotionally powerful, especially for a virtually unknown actor surrounded by big-time Hollywood talent. Birch was strong as Spacey and Benning's seemingly forgotten daughter. I had no idea she was just 17 when this was filmed. She showed a maturity beyond her years. Mena Suvari looked great. Chris Cooper and a host of others round out the impressive cast. I look forward to listening to the director's commentary later this evening. Should be very insightful. All in all, an easy 10/10.
American Beauty is top notch, one of those films that really is a 10/10 or 4 stars or whatever. it has some lines that crack me up too, although most of them i cant post here

love the part where he is playing the kid online. reminds me of the trash talking my friend's and i do when playing madden.
I rented a couple DVDs over the weekend both were entertaining.
1.) 16 blocks with bruce willis and some black dude whom I don't know his name but he was most entertaining.
this was a good flick, it had 2 versioins 1 alternate which I watched first then went back and watched the original ending.
I liked the alternate ending better. more depressing but still excellent closure.
8/9
2.) the Hills Have Eyes I consider myself a bit of a horror film buff. I saw the original Hills back in the 80's probably on beta Max. this one is probably more what Wes Craven had in mind.
This movie gave me alot of jumpy little scares, and not cheesy ones. Plenty of good gore, not Frank Gore he sucks. Also some really disturbing scenes, and well as horror flick goes, i'm inclined to give this one a 9.5/10. Scary gorey, disturbing

I went and saw Miami Vice last night and I have mixed feelings on this flick. First off, its much more of a serious drug/love drama than I thought it would be. You could seriously cut about 40 minutes of crap out of the middle and remake the movie. I personally thought that it really dragged in the middle. It started off good and ended with a bang but the middle was flat out terrible, IMO.
Pros: Pretty good acting, amazing/violent kill shots, sweet fight scenes towards the end.
Cons: Lots of lingo/acronyms, weak love scenes, really drawn out storyline.

Haha, it happens so much for me too, i play Madden online all the time and it's funnier than hell what you hear over it.....guys taking hits off bongs, fights, kids who are like 12 who u hear their mom yellin at em to get off the game and do chores and i even heard some guys doing lines.
Pretty funny too cuz i done that arguing with 12 year olds on madden before.

The black guy is rapper/actor Mos Def. I actually wanted to see this movie, because I like both of those guys, but I think it got slammed by the critics. Maybe I will check it out.
Came back from vacation about a week ago. It was at a foreign country and they had a free website run through there servers that let me see any movie ever made. And thats what I did. Here are some
Pirate's of the Caribean
Superman Returns
MI3
Scary Movie 3-4

i really liked that movie but, i think they drew out the whole rape thing out too long. a little unrealistic too, that guys took a lot of hits to get up. and the other guy took a freaking shot gun blast! though
