I purchased American Psycho: Killer Collector's edition on a whim, and I'm glad I did.
American Psycho-8.5/10 Bale gives an amazing performance as the wall street yuppie/inner pyschopath. The movie is hard to catergorize- it's almost a satirical "morbid" comedy with some extreme violence/sex thrown in for good measure. It could very easily be seen as a character study kinda movie. The ending was confusing(at least to me) and certainly surprised me; still debating whether or not it could have been done better. Either way, good movie. I'm glad I purchased it.... and the case is cool
if you liked it, then go read the book by Bret Easton Ellis, way better then the movie, and it'll help explain a lot - the only book i've ever read where i've actually GAGGED reading it - one of the most disturbing books ever, imo - partly because of how they juxtapose the violence with his random thoughts on fashion, food, women - that is so chilling, his blasé attitude
for all the AP fans if you want to see what ,imo, is an even more messed up movie see Rules of Attraction. james van der beek plays patrick bateman's brother sean and it's written by the same guy that wrote AP.it is seriously the only movie i had to stop after about the first say 45 minutes and actually start drinking to finish.
correct me if i am wrong, but bret easton ellis is a woman.
