I finally went to a movie in a theater and I can contribute to this thread!
Took the wife to see Casino Royale Saturday night. Not bad. Definitely not your typical Bond film. Lots of soul-searching and stuff. The poker game part of the show was a bit too long, and towards the end I got a smidge lost with all of the plot twists (they weren’t very well explained). Maybe I’m getting old but I thought Eva Green as the Bond Girl was just an OK choice. She’s got too much of a baby face IMO.
The new Bond is all right. DEFINITELY not as suave and sophisticated of a Bond as Connery or Moore. The character as played by Daniel Craig appears to be headed in a much “darker” direction. Not bad, though. They spent a large part of the movie trying to prove that a man on foot can
run fast enough to catch up to a speeding car - especially if he grimaces enough when he's running.
I think the most bizarre thing in the movie was when Bond arrived at one of his locales and was driving a FORD. What a weird sight that was.
I’d give it
.5 out of 5. Definitely worth seeing, but you could wait until it hits DVD first.
