What movies did you see today?

I saw Blades of Glory yesterday. It was good, but the ending was so weird.

i agree... the ending was a little ... yeah... but i liked it... 7 or 8 outta 10 ... i'd see it again

yeah in the ferrel-verse i'd put it in between anchorman and ricky bobby. the best part was jenna fischer though. she's cute on the office but wow much much hotter in this.

Saw Flyboys.

Pretty crappy overall but it is based off a true story and has a couple of very great scenes, decent acting at times but at other times very horrible. Pretty good special effects but it seems to lack the depth and intensity that I would want from a movie like this.

Saw a few movies this weekend.

Flushed Away - Not a bad kiddy movie. Lots of adult humor, which makes it easier for me to swallow a cartoon. My eight year old son loved it.

Casino Royal - I thought some of those chase scenes were That opening action scene where they are on the building that’s under construction. There were a couple of shots that I thought looked like they were on a set and not on location.

Craig played a good Bond. Is he Connery? No, I don't think so. Will I recommend this movie? Hell yes, it's 007.

I do have a way of being over hyped about something, and I think that is what happened here. I've wanted to see this for months and I have also heard many good things about the movie that I may have come in with higher hopes than I should have. I'll watch it again, in a few weeks, and see if I feel any better about it.

TMNT - Did I miss something with this movie. Is this a sequel, or is this a continuation of Saturday Morning Cartoon? I know the story about the Turtles and how they became Mutant (I've seen the '80 live action movies), but this movie starts with one of them in Latin America and the turtles not getting along. I found myself falling asleep, although it didn't help that I was up till 2am the night before watching Casino Royal. If it can't keep me awake, then something's wrong.

Finally saw Chronicles of Narnia.

I'd give it 8/10.

I don't remember too many specifics as I read the books about 15 years ago, but while it was definitely geared to a child audience, a lot of the aspects of the story were very grown up and I think made it enjoyable for anyone. It did seem to go a bit quick, and not really explain some of the parts it skipped over, but the visual effects (costume design and CGIs) were flawless, as well as the finale very exciting.

suggestions on this thread got me to rent children of men... it was ok 8/10 maybe IMHO... but i ran a video store for 6 years so I've got a lot of movies to compare it to...

I saw Cold Mountain. I heard it was boring, but I was pleasantly surprised. I thought the plot and characters were very good.

We watched Pursuit of Happyness the other night. I think the wife cried through the whole thing. Very humbling to say the least. Good story with a happy ending, if you're into that sort of thing.

Van Wilder: Rise of Taj... 6.5/10

It's an ok watch, a few laughs, but not really worth it. Maybe I was just hoping for more because I really liked Van Wilder. I would put it right with all the other Nat'l Lampoon lower budget ones and the later American pie sequels (naked mile, band camp, etc...) At least there was some nudity...
