I think Peter Berg really does well with action movies. The first hour or so of the movie was decent, but not great. The last 30-45 minutes, however, I thought was aweseome. It's worth watching just for the car crash and shootouts at the end.
Watched the Bourne series this past weekend. It was very good I thought. I really dug the first and last one. The middle one was a little slower to get going for me, but still was good. The wife loved it too. Pretty cool on HD DVD.
Superbad 9/10 -hilarious, enough said. It's right up there with the other Apatow movies. I'd go Knocked Up, Superbad, then FYOV(best); it's still close though. This Jonah Hill guy is very, very funny and has a bright future in comedy. I loved the extras on the dvd too, I can't help it I love this raunchy stuff
Babel 8/10 -drama piece centered on 3 interwoven stories linking people all across the world. I'd say this film deals with the barriers of language and communication between different races and cultures... an interesting watch from an intriguing director.
Saw National Treasure II - basically if you liked the first one you'll like the second one, plain and simple, fun to watch but not the best I've ever seen. 7/10
Also saw Sweeney Todd the Demon Barber of Fleet Street - "Jonny Depp's in it, it has to be good right?" yes and no. It's a musical, I'd heard there'd be some singing, but wow...a lot more than I expected (that being said Jonny Depp has a surprisingly decent singing voice). The story line is interesting...kinda, but it also kinda goes nowhere. If you like Jonny Depp a lot and enjoy a bit of strange humor (some parts had me hysterical), watch it, but maybe wait until it comes out on DVD and rent it. It was...well my favorite musical, if that says anything. 5/10
