Yeah I wouldn't say Denzel is over-rated....in fact I've never heard anybody ever say that before. He does have his own style of acting and all his characters tend to reflect that style but he is a very good actor. Tom Hanks isn't overrated either, in fact I hate that term "overrated" when talking about actors. It's a matter of taste and preference.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I think Val Kilmer gets my vote for underrated. The guy can do just about everything from drama (Thunderheart) to comedy (Real Genius) to westerns (Tombstone), and do it damn well.

The Heartbreak Kid: C+

Speaking of overrated actors, I'm getting fed up with Ben Stiller. That guy plays pretty much the same role in every movie. "Look at me, I'm Ben Stiller. I'm so whacky."

Many of the funny parts are played ad nauseam in the tv trailers of The Heartbreak Kid, in effect losing their luster. The plot is horribly predictable once you get about halfway into the movie; anybody with any movie watching experience will be able to correctly guess the ending from that point on. The saving grace of the film is supporting roles from Carlos Mencia, Jerry Stiller, and some funny bald dude. It's a decent way to kill 90 minutes or so, even if it does leave you feeling empty and duped at the conclusion.

Word. Val Kilmer is in way too few movies these days. His character in Tombstone is one of my favorites in any movie ever. Not nearly in as many movies now days as he should be.
