Wow! That's a pretty big statement considering his resume of films. Though, I have to admit, Conan The Barbarian is a damn fine movie. James Earl Jones gets a lot of love for being such a great actor, but his role as Thulsa Doom is often overlooked. As evil as Darth Vader may be, Doom holds his own. Too bad Conan The Destroyer took a more comic turn and failed where its predecessor succeeded, else we might have a third installment.
Arnold definitely had some great movies in his career, but if there was one character that stand out in my mind for him, it's Conan. He just seems like the perfect actor to portray him. And Conan the Destroyer was just , it was like all the other stereotypical sword-and-magic movies. And to add on for the Barbarian, I think it may have one of the best soundtracks ever for any movie. The music is epic and they blended it very well into the various scenes.
Thanks to deluxe_247 for sig, he is welcome to sail with the Captain too! I will win all of the fantasy cafe games.....next year
As a fan of the series, I give it a 9-out-of-10. I would have loved it if it was a spoof, even though I was expecting something real. Not sure if it is for everyone, but if you have some time for a matinee I would consider it. Otherwise, definitely worth a rental when it comes to Blockbuster!

So true on both accounts. Destroyer became a typical film for the genre and became almost a parody of the first movie. I can hardly recall any funny moments in the first film, while the second one featured comic relief from virtually every sidekick. Ugh. As for the first film's soundtrack, absolutely one of the best. It's almost another character in the film, it's so good. God, I need to bust out that film again!
I saw Shutter last night. Not a bad rental for a lazy Monday evening. It stars Joshua Jackson of Mighty Ducks fame and Rachel Taylor. Decent horror flick that is fairly predictable but pretty entertaining. I'll give it a 6.5/10. Not great but worth a viewing.
